The Town of Troy will host its annual National Night Out Against Crime on Oct. 13, beginning at 4 p.m.
Events will be held at the Old Troy School House located at 119 Church Street, Troy.
The Town of Troy will give parents/guardians National Child ID Kits that include finger print card, invisible ink and foil pouch, DNA kit, wallet size laminate card and instructions. These kits were developed in partnership between NATW, FBI and the American Football Coaches Association.
Sponsors for this event include Troy Town Council, Troy Fire Department, Greenwood County Sheriff’s Department, Greenwood County Fire Services, McCormick County Sheriff’s Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

On Saturday, Oct. 17 during the Trunks of Gold Marketplace in McCormick, Books on Main Bookstore will be holding the ever-popular Bag of Books sale. Stop by the store between 8 a.m. and noon and fill a bag (bags will be provided) with books of your choosing – all for $1. A few exclusions apply, i.e. new fiction, new children’s, local authors.
