    he 2019 Upstate Home and Garden Expo, presented by the Home Builders Association of Anderson, will take place from Friday, February 8 through Sunday, February 10 at the Anderson Civic Center. The hours are as follows:

     

    • Friday, February 8, 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
    • Saturday, February 9, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
    • Sunday, February 10, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

     

    Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors (55+) and admission is free for children 12 and under.

    Black History Dinner and Show

    A black history dinner and show featuring the nationally known Geechee Gullah Ring Shouters will be held Feb. 2, 2019 at 5 p.m. at the Mims Community Center. The event is sponsored by Willington African American Cultural Center and the Mims Community Center.

    Historical Tour

    Award winning historian Jenny Kelly will conduct a tour of historic sites to celebrate an ongoing renovation of historical markers beginning at 3 p.m. on Feb. 3. The guided tour will start at Long Cane Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, established 1771. The tour will continue to historical sites: the Long Cane Massacre, the Revolutionary Battle of Long Cane, and Colonial Era Fort Boone.
